Murrayville will be holding a Sesquicentennial celebration June 20-21,
2008. Planning for the celebration includes a museum featuring historical
items, memorabilia, records and more relating to the history of Murrayville;
a Queen Pageant, Little Miss and Mr. Contest, Oldie Contest, Baby Content,
and Talent Contest; the opening of the 1983 time capsule; a huge Parade;
a Garden Tractor and Pedal Tractor Pull for adults and children; a
Car and Tractor Show; a Sand Volleyball Tournament; a Vintage Baseball
Game; a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament; a Quilt Show; Live Entertainment;
and many contests, games and food for all ages.
A number of exciting events are being held leading up to the town’s
150th celebration.

December 8, 2007- Holiday Home Tour
The Holiday Home Tour will feature several Murrayville homes. Advanced
tickets are $7.00, or $8.00 the day of the event. Learn more about

December 8, 2007- Cookie Walk and Silent Auction
Join us at the American Legion from 11:00 – 5:00 p.m. to bid
on a variety of items and to purchase a wide selection of cookies.
All cookie varieties will be sold for $5.00/lb.
January 19, 2008- Trivia Night
Put on your game face and bring your friends for Trivia Night, to
be held at the American Legion. Time TBA.
February 16- Dance and Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction
Join us at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jacksonville from 7:00 – 11:00
p.m. and enjoy an evening of dancing with tunes provided by local band “The
Tapestry.” Murrayville’s most eligible Bachelor’s
and Bachelorette’s will also be up for auction. Ticket price
TBA. This event is open to the public.
April 26- Golf Scramble
A Golf Scramble is scheduled at Northridge Golf Course in Jacksonville.
Details for this event will follow.

Cookbooks and Afghans are also available. These can be purchased at
Mason’s Market, the Murrayville Bank, and in Jacksonville at
Family Gardens and All Occasions. The afghan pictures prominent Murrayville
buildings as well as a calendar and would make a lovely family heirloom.
